Chiropractor Basalt Colorado: The Expertise of Dr. James Fraser

Chiropractor Basalt

Deep in the Colorado Rockies, where people just as much value a healthy body as they do a beautiful view, clean air, and a great mountain trail run, staying at your best has become a way of life. From the ski slopes of Aspen to the Roaring Fork Valley trails, athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and even the occasional A-list visitor are getting smarter about taking care of themselves. Whether they’ve been in a tough fall on the slopes, struggling to tweak their golf swing, or are training for that next big marathon, people are realising it takes more than just exercise to stay on top of their game. These individuals – whether weekend warriors or (yes) professional athletes – are getting savvy about investing in a healthy body and a life where they can move freely.

At the heart of all this is a growing movement that looks at the body as a whole system – where joint mobility, muscle strength, and structural integrity are just as important as getting enough rest and eating well. And while that shift is revolutionary, the real difference between feeling a bit better for a while, versus actually recovering comes down to the level of care you get. That’s why some of the most discerning patients, from Olympic hopefuls to ordinary folk, are looking for a very particular kind of expert in the valley – someone who can blend science and intuition, precision and compassion, all wrapped up in some seriously skilled care. That person is Dr. James Fraser.

Dr. James Fraser is the founder, owner, and lead practitioner at Spine Spot Chiropractic, a Chiropractor Basalt, Colorado. He started up the practice back in 2022 and its blown up – in the best possible way – into a go-to destination for people who need high level, functional chiropractic care that delivers. Fraser is a well known figure in the Roaring Fork Valley – often seen out and about with his Dalmatian, Karma, a therapy dog who brings a bit of comfort and joy to patients during the Friday sessions at the clinic. Under his guidance, the clinic has become the place to go for complex cases – people who have been through multiple surgeries, struggle with conditions like scoliosis and disc injuries or just can’t seem to get the results they need from elsewhere. Fraser’s approach centres on evidence-based care, informed by a thorough analysis of each patient’s symptoms and a commitment to helping people function at their best – all with realistic expectations of what that might look like for each individual. His treatment plans are highly individualised and sophisticated – drawing on his expertise in a range of techniques like Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson, Activator, and Webster’s. When it comes to results-driven care, Fraser sets a new standard.

Word of Fraser’s expertise has spread far beyond the local community. He’s now getting calls from top athletes, Olympians, and pro skiers and snowboarders up in Aspen Snowmass – all looking to tweak their performance and get the most out of their bodies. He’s worked with golfers to improve their swing, helped marathon runners and mountain bikers get back on their feet, and even done some pretty complex work with people who’ve got all sorts of neuromusculoskeletal challenges. And people don’t just fly in from out of town for his expertise – they come in from all over for his discretion and personal touch. Fraser’s got a client list that reads like a who’s who of celebrities and billionaires who come to Aspen for the skiing and the high-end lifestyle – but end up sticking with him for his care.

Fraser grew up in Ontario, Oregon – his roots run deep back to the historic Fraser Clan of Scotland. He did his high school years at Columbia High and then went on to study exercise physiology at FSU, graduating in 2012. After that, he was off to Palmer College of Chiropractic to get his Doctor of Chiropractic degree (which he earned in 2015) and won the Clinical Service Award for his academic and clinical achievements. Throughout his studies, Fraser was always keen to keep learning – getting advanced training in a range of chiropractic techniques so he was ready for whatever challenges came his way. After graduating, Fraser set up his first practice in Lake City, Florida and built a reputation for patient-centred care. He eventually moved his practice to Basalt, Colorado and set up Spine Spot Chiropractic in 2022. With its location in the gorgeous Roaring Fork Valley, the clinic has become a magnet for patients who want tailored, results-driven care that gets to the heart of their problem – not just treats the symptoms.
